Hippo Cup Cozy

You will need:
Circular needles or DPNs
Sewing up needle

Measure your cup first, depend on your gauge cast on needed amount of stitches. I had 23 cm diameter and I casted on 66.
Join for knitting in the round. Purl 5 rows in the round.
To make the opening for the handle, start working your rows back and forth:

Repeat 1 and 2 rows(stockinette stitch) to the next part of the handle. Switch rows - on the RS - purl and WS - knit for 5 rows. Cast off. Leave the end of the string about 10 inches for button loop.

Loop: with crochet hook chain 6 loops, go back on them with sc, fasten off.
Sew a button.

Knit ears, teeth, eyes and attach it to the “body”.
